Review Policy

I’m always looking for more books to read, with no restrictions on genre. Fantasy and horror seem to make up the majority of my reading material, but that’s a mild preference. This blog contains reviews for romance, non-fiction, and anything else I’ve come across.

There are some things that are less likely to catch my interest than others – I dislike time travel as a plot device, so books about that are a harder sell. With that said, some time-travel books are very good. Other dislikes include portal fantasy, anything reliant on pop culture references, and love triangles.

I have no issue at all with reviewing self-published books.

If you would like me to review your book, email me at peritract@hotmail.co.uk. I don’t really have any requirements for review requests. Everything’s fine. A blurb is appreciated. I’m not going to be upset if you don’t address me by my real name – I obscure that deliberately. “Peritract” is fine.

Given the number of requests I receive, and the speed at which I read, I’m afraid I can’t respond to every email. I will email if I need more details, or to tell you that a review is done. It takes me a while to read and review things, as I always have a backlog of books, so please be patient.

I can’t guarantee that I will actually review your book, but I will definitely consider it seriously. If I don’t think I’ll enjoy it from the off, then there’s little point in me sharing my thoughts. I also won’t guarantee niceness – I won’t be pointlessly mean, but I will be honest and sometimes that won’t be positive.
